As the photographer behind Sohal Studios, Gurm brings a personal approach to every wedding he photographs. From intimate celebrations to multi-day Indian weddings, his focus is on creating timeless photographs while making couples feel comfortable and allowing genuine moments to unfold naturally.
Gurm is an international award-winning photographer and the author of Sikh Weddings: A Shot-by-Shot Guide for Photographers, published by Amherst Media. He has photographed more than 1000 Indian weddings and has shared his experience with photographers around the world through photography workshops and education, including teaching with CreativeLive.
His work combines an understanding of Indian wedding traditions with natural storytelling, dramatic portraiture and refined lighting. Over the years, Gurm's photography and expertise have been featured by SLR Lounge, Lavish Dulhan and WedLuxe.
Today, Gurm continues to personally photograph the weddings accepted by Sohal Studios, intentionally limiting the number of weddings each year so that every couple receives the preparation, attention and experience their celebration deserves.
